It was another great day with a high of 21C. We went into Kerrville
to grab a few groceries and as we were unloading the food at the coach our
Canadian neighbours from Stouffville Ontario, just two sites down from us asked if
we wanted to join them for a ride. Of course we said sure so off we went. They have
been in the Hill Area a few times so knew some different roads from the ones we
have taken. It was great, we were on single lane roads which actually went
through the ranches and pass their cattle and buildings. We stopped for a late
lunch in at a pizza/winery place which was in the middle of nowhere. The pizza
was made was all handmade and cooked in an opened hearth heated by oak wood.
The pizza was fantastic!

We then headed back to the campground, of course taking the
long way on some more great roads. We stopped at the famous Bandera Bar called “The
Eleventh Street Cowboy Bar”. The storey goes the women who visit the bar are to
leave something, so you can’t help but notice all the bras hanging from the
ceiling. On Wednesdays for dinner you are to bring your own meat (any type) and you
cook it on their bbq’s and they supply the cooking utensils, cutlery, and sides
for $6.00. It has a large dance floor and a stage for the live bands. It is
very popular. We know it was packed during Mardi Gras and had a $15.00 cover
charge.
