We left Vegas with its cloud free sky and worked our way
over to highway 93 which took us over the new bridge near Hoover Dam. We really
couldn’t see the dam from the road due to the mountains in the area but we did
see Lake Mead. It didn’t look very RV friendly so we continued on our way for
the destination just outside of Seligman which happens to be on Route 66.
Crossing over into Arizona we crossed a time zone so we
gained another hour. For me it is hard enough
to keep track of what day it is little loan try to keep
track of what the time is with all this time shifting taking place recently.
The area we traveled through today was the area we had to
check the weather and temperatures, due to its elevation. It took about 45
minutes to drive through the mountain range and we just kept climbing. The new
GPS we have tells us the elevation we are at which is a neat feature. We entered
the range around 2,500 feet and by the time we finished climbing the elevation
was 5,774 feet. Cathy says we are now camping on the high desert.

Hope we are not heading towards this mountain |
The campground is in the middle of nowhere but the owner
says we are 2 miles from the town of Seligman. We are sharing the entire campground
with a grand total of 5 other units tonight. The capacity of the campground is
58 and the owner mentioned this is not their busy time; it is more in the
summer when people pass through to Vegas or the Grand Canyon.
The high for today was around 25C.
We are on the road again tomorrow. Not much to see around
here, after you have seen one desert they all start to look the
same.
