A FULL DAY ON THE ROAD

We left early as per the plan (6:45) and it was a bit foggy and of course dark. Went straight down Trafalgar to the Pioneer gas station to fill up and hit the 401 at 8 o'clock. The fog turned into sun later in the a.m. but when we crossed the border it turned cloudy but still warm (17degrees).

The border

On average there were two cars per lane so I picked one with only one vehicle waiting. All the lines seemed to be moving quite well except ours, so on closer inspection we discovered there was a traffic cone closing the lane. We don't know how long this guy had been waiting so we backed up enough to change lanes.

The crossing went quit well except for Cathy having to part with the 4 cherry tomatoes she was trying to save for our pizza dinner. He also wanted to look in the trailer to see if in fact we did have a bike in there and not an illegal passenger.

We where on the road for approx. 7 hrs. and arrived at our destination campground which is about 20 miles north of Fort Wayne. The campground is empty except for 4 trailers which look like they are going to stay for the winter as they have their water lines wrapped with  heating coils. There is one other RV which arrived here for the night from Texas.
